The Wootton Patriots JV baseball team had a stellar game against the Blake Bengals today and earned a dominating 28-1 win. The Patriots got on the board in the first inning when James Walsh doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs. The Patriots continued the run production in the second inning when they scored ten runs. Brady Weiss, James Walsh, Rob Carpenter, Brian Garmer, Liam Miller, and Dason Miller all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
Liam Miller led things off on the mound for Patriots. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking none. Brady Weiss followed Miller on the Hill and pitched one and two-thirds of one hit baseball. Larry Bu and George Misovec closed out the 5th inning for the Patriots to secure the win.
In the game, the Patriots had 15 hits. Walsh, Dason Miller, Brady Weiss, and Hank Breen all managed multiple hits for the team. Dason Miller and Walsh each collected three hits to lead the team. The Patriots also tore up the base paths as the team managed 11 stolen bases in the game. Hank Breen led the way for the team with three of these stolen bases.
The Patriots look to continue their impressive start to this season tomorrow against the Damascus Hornets at 3:45 at Wooton’s McCracken field.
