The showdown of the season-to-date saw Gaithersburg’s Trojans take on our Patriots in a home game with implications! The early play saw Gaithersburg dominate, creating dangerously and using their speed and ball movement to genuine advantage. Wootton fought back and earned opportunities of their own, with first half action ending scoreless.

The second half saw Gaithersburg build momentum, culminating in a go-ahead goal that was deserved. However, as we’ve come to expect, our Patriots fought back, scoring the equalizer just minutes after Gaithersburg grabbed the initial lead. Andy Ram finished a lovely service from Jonathan Camberos. It was Ram’s 5th goal of the season, and Camberos notched his 5th assist.

With a number of players out with injury or illness, it was awesome to see others step up to fill those voids. Ben Stoller took on an uncomfortable role of playing at the right back, and performed extremely well, cutting off Gaithersburg attacks and physically dominating 1v1 situations in the defensive third of the field. Max Greenfeld performed very well at the left back, and Michael Auth put in terrific work in the midfield.
