Wootton Patriots Varsity snatched the lead late in the game in a 6-5 victory over Poolesville on Monday. The game was tied at five with Wootton Patriots Varsity batting in the bottom of the fifth when Jeremy Goldstein singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

In the second inning, Poolesville got their offense started when an error scored two runs for Poolesville.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Wootton Patriots Varsity tied things up at five when Chris West homered on a 2-1 count, scoring three runs.

After Poolesville scored two runs in the top of the third, Wootton Patriots Varsity answered with two of their own. Wootton Patriots Varsity then answered when Chris Vondas homered on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

Dev Zoks led things off on the mound for Wootton Patriots Varsity. He allowed three hits and two runs over two innings, striking out one and walking zero.

Brady Pearre was on the hill for Poolesville. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over one inning, striking out two and walking one. #31, Steve Orsini, and Luke Trythall each contributed in relief for Poolesville.
