The Thomas S. Wootton Junior Varsity Baseball team defeated a very solid Churchill Bulldog team 4-0 on Thursday as Rob Carpenter and Brady Weiss combined to throw a one hit shutout. Carpenter led things off on the mound for the Patriots throwing five strong innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out five and walking zero hitters. Weiss pitched the final two innings of the game allowing the lone Bulldog hit, 0 walks, and striking out 1 to close the game out. The Patriots supplemented this strong pitching performance with eight hits. Dason Miller and George Misovec led the way with two hits each. The Patriots were also able to earn 5 walks and stole three bases in the game. These hits, walks, and stolen bases all combined to assist the Patriots to scratch across the 4 runs the team earned to solidify the win. The Patriots look to keep their strong season going when they play the Springbrook Blue Devils at Wootton’s McCracken Field on Saturday at 10am.
