The Thomas S. Wootton Junior Varsity baseball team played a solid baseball game tonight and beat Whitman 5 to 2 on the road. The Patriots opened up the scoring in the first inning when the Whitman starting pitcher threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate. The Patriots scored three runs in the inning and were able to stay focused and intense despite an injury suffered by a teammate. This big inning was also helped by a walk by William Karis and a single by Andrew Misovec. These were all the runs the Patriots needed to hold on to the win as Jacob Glazier led things off on the hill and pitched a stellar game. He pitche a complete game; allowing two runs on five hits and striking out five. Andrew Misovec, Brett Olsen, Will Karis, and Max Levine each collected one hit to lead the Patriots. The Patriots also played their best defensive game of the year and didn’t commit a single error in the field.
The Patriots look to end this strong 2018 campaign with a win next Thursday against a solid Quince Orchard on the road starting at 3:45 pm.
