The Thomas S. Wootton Junior Varsity Baseball team beat the Gaithersburg Trojans by a score of 13 – 1 today at Gaithersburg. James Walsh had one of his best games of the season, driving in four runs on two hits to lead the Patriots past Gaithersburg. Walsh drove in two runs on a single in the third inning and two more runs on a double in the fifth. Robert Carpenter got the start on the hill for the Patriots. He allowed one hit and one run over four innings, striking out six. Jackson Brunner finished the game off for the Patriots.
The Patriots were able to gather nine hits in the game. Carpenter, Walsh, and Liam Miller all managed multiple hits for the team. This win moves the Patriots into their spring break with a 9 and 1 record. Out of the break the Patriots will look to continue this strong 2019 campaign with a game versus Whitman on Wednesday, April 24 at Wootton’s McCracken Field.
