Patriots News · Fall Sports Registration Opens July 16

All those interested in participating in Cross Country, Field Hockey, Football, Golf, Soccer or Volleyball may begin to register for the August 8 tryouts on July 16.

The myMCPS online registration portal may be accessed using your secure myMCPS Parent Portal login. Parents/guardians are also able to scan and upload their student’s physical as part of the registration process. Following are some important dates and action items regarding the registration process for the upcoming fall sports season.

Now Students should complete their pre-participation physical (MCPS Form SR-8) so that the

clearance form (last page of SR-8) is ready for online submission or for submission to the coach prior to tryouts/practices. Physicals are valid for one calendar year. The form is available at the link below:

Now Parents/guardians should confirm access to the myMCPS Parent Portal. Parents/guardians

new to MCPS will have their myMCPS login information mailed home this summer. There will be no change in login information for parents/guardians with existing myMCPS accounts. Parents/guardians who need assistance with accessing myMCPS should contact the local school. More information regarding the myMCPS Parent Portal is available here:

Program Details

When: July 2018

Where: Washington D.C.

What:  Athletes will win an all-expense paid trip to attend the four-day Battles Won Academy in Washington D.C. Their experience will include daily workouts, an immersive Marine Corps experience on base in Quantico, a community service event, a tour of our Nation’s Capital and networking opportunities with our nation’s civic, athletic and military leaders. Additionally, 2018 Semper Fidelis All-Americans are automatically eligible for exclusive scholarship opportunities and are permitted to invite a mentor of their choosing to attend the event alongside them.

Who is eligible?

Students will be selected for the program based on moral character and academic performance in addition to athletic abilities. Most critically, nominees must demonstrate a fighting spirit that improves the lives of their fellow citizens.
