The Thomas S. Wootton Patriots Junior Varsity Baseball team defeated Quince Orchard 3-2 on Monday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at two with the Patriots batting in the top of the seventh when Andrew Misovec singled, driving in what turned out to be the game winning run. The inning started with a hard single by Will Karis. Followed by a sacrifice bunt by Darren Chang. A productive out by Ethan Kach moved Karis to third and this all set up the game winning hit by Andrew Misovec.
The pitching was strong on both sides of this low scoring, defensive affair.
Quince Orchard captured the lead in the first inning. An error scored one run for Quince Orchard. In the top of the third inning, the Patriots tied things up at two after an error scored allowed the run to score. Dev Zoks earned the win for Patriots. He tossed six innings, surrendering two runs, four hits, striking out one, and walking zero. Connor Walsh recorded the last three outs to earn the save for the Patriots. The Quince Orchard pitcher, Blaine, who wound up with the tough loss threw four innings, surrendering one run, three hits, striking out two, and walking one.
Pasekoff started the game for Quince Orchard. He went three innings, giving up two runs, one hit, and striking out one.
Darren Chang and Andrew Misovec each drove in one run to lead Patriots. Ethan Reff led the team with two hits on the day.
The team hopes to continue their winning ways on the road against a tough Nothwest team this Wednesday.
