The Wootton Patriots JV baseball team responded from a tough tie against Churchill to beat the Springbrook Blue Devils 22-0. Ethan Reff didn’t allow a single run and led the Patriots to victory. Reff scattered four hits across his five innings of work.
The Patriots were boosted by Dev Zoks who went 4-for-5 at the plate. Zoks singled in the first, doubled in the third, and singled twice in the fourth. The Patriots captured the lead in the first inning and the team never looked back from there. The Patriots capped off the game when they scored ten runs in the fourth inning. The Patriots scored on a single by Zoks, a single by Connor Walsh, a error, a error, a error, a walk by Darren Chang, a walk by Freddie Rodgers, a single the second single by Zoks, and a single by Graham Blondes. In total, the Patriot collected 18 hits. Zoks, Rodgers, Walsh, Blondes, and Matthew Winson each collected multiple hits for the team.
The Patriots look to continue their winning ways when they meet a tough Northwest Jaguars on the road Friday afternoon.
