The Wootton Patriot’s Junior Varsity Baseball team battled a well coached and solid Churchill team to a 3-3 tie at McCracken stadium today. A single by Ethan Kach in the seventh inning helped Wootton Patriots JV complete the comeback after an aggressive double steal that gave the Patriots a runner on second and third with one out.
The Patriots took an early lead in the first inning. With two outs in the first inning Graham Blondes drove in one run when he singled hard down the right field line.
Wootton Patriots JV had eight hits in the game. Blondes and Dev Zoks each collected multiple hits for the Patriots during today’s game. Blondes, Ethan Kach, and Zoks each drove in one run during the game.
Dev Zoks also pitched a solid 7 complete innings, giving up three unearned runs, and spreading 4 hits across the game. Conor Walsh came in and pitched a perfect 8th inning.
Churchill was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error in the game.
The Patriots look to rebound from this tie on Monday at home versus the Springbrook Blue Devils at 3:45pm
