Game Recap

The Thomas S. Wootton Junior Varsity Baseball team played an inspired game today for their injured teammate, Ben Bowman, and beat a very good Clarksburg Coyotes team by a score of 7 to 5. The Patriots came out hot early and led 5 to 0 after two innings. The Coyotes stayed composed and chipped away at the Patriot lead by scoring two runs in the fourth inning and finally tying the game on a three run homerun in the fifth inning to tie the game. The Patriots responded to the Coyotes momentum the very next inning by producing two runs. The rally was started by a big seven pitch walk by Ethan Kach. Nick Siegel executed a perfect bunt and advanced the runner to second. After the runner advanced to third and scored on a wild pitch, Chris Vondas, who went 2 for 2 and had 2 walks, got on base with a walk and later scored when Greg Urovsky had a productive out to the right side allowing Chris to score. Harrison Cance shut the door in the sixth and seventh inning and concluded the complete game, only allowing 2 earned runs along the way, to earn the big victory for the Patriots. This marks the fourth win in a row for the Patriots and they look to keep up their winning ways against the B-CC Barons next Thursday.
