Game Recap

The Lady Patriots improved their overall record to 3-1 with a 6-0 victory on the road at Gaithersburg against a spirited squad that played the entire match. After a somewhat sluggish start, the offense found a rhythm behind two Ashley Pitt strikes (one from the penalty spot) and a completed corner by Kalise Gilbert from a Sarah Dellapa corner, the second time in as many matches they have combined. Pitt’s scoring touch continued in the second half, and she added two well-finished goals and assisted on Jordi Socher’s second tally of the season.
The second half saw Wootton on the front foot for nearly the entire thirty-five but not without Gaithersburg countering at times; however, the backs (led in particular by sophomores Bianca Shah and Jenna Traub held firm as a young crew of freshman [Carson Blum, Hayley Parsons, Felicia Johansson, and Nicole Deprey] continue to gather experience). Overall Wootton held the Trojans to two shots on goal.
The girls host Poolesville Thursday at 5:15.
