Meet Recap

Wootton Patriots clinch the division with 6-1 win against Churchill. The match was rescheduled due to rain and both teams played a long and competitive match finishing at 7:30 pm. Singles 1 junior captain Joseph Brailovsky won in two close sets followed by singles 4 freshman Daniel Zhang at singles 4. Zhang won the first set easily but lost the second set. Playing a tie tiebreaker at 6-6 for the third set, Zhang kept his focus and brought in our second point. Nick Huynh lost a very close match at singles 3, and Senior captain Ben Fellman was still in the first set at singles 2! Fellman won the first set in a tiebreaker and then continued to win decisively in the second set. This Gabe Wootton 3 points but still 1 point shy of victory. Doubles 1 junior captain Andy Xiao and Eric Feng were working hard in their third set as the singles were finishing. Xiao and Feng clinched the win by bringing in our 4th point for the match. Doubles 2 Simon Huynh and Alex Yeh won at their court in two sets and the entire team cheered the doubles 3 team of Kevin Wang and Jared Fishman to a win in their third set – finishing with Wootton winning 6 courts. Division I champs and on to counties!
