We will need volunteers for both Friday night and Saturday prelim/finals sessions.  Please click on the following link to see what volunteer slots are available:

Pool Deck

  • Once the meet starts, swimmers will not be able to walk from the turn end of the pool to the start end of the pool along lane 1 (stage/diving boards side of the pool).  This is due to the officials starting area.  Swimmers will need to walk all the way around.
  • The entire facility will close 15 minutes after the conclusion of Saturday morning prelims.
  • The pool deck for coaches and swimmers will reopen at 3:45 pm. The spectator gallery will reopen at 4:00 pm.
  • Coaches/swimmers will not be allowed up into the spectator gallery/bleacher area to save seats.

Deck Credentials (Saturday Finals ONLY)
Due to the over crowded deck space for Saturday finals only those with proper credentials will be allowed on deck.

Once the results are announced on Friday night and Saturday morning, swimmers who make finals must report to the credential table under the diving platform behind the announcer so they can get their “Finalist” bag tag. Athletes must pick up their bag tag before they leave the meet and they must have this with them to gain access to the pool deck for finals. They will not be given another one if they forget it. In addition, if they go upstairs at anytime during the meet they will need their credential to get back on deck.

Any swimmer or diver listed on the submitted team roster will be allowed access to the pool deck. They will need a picture ID and will need to report to the meeting room across from the concession room on the main level.  There they will receive a wristband that must be worn at all times. This process will take place in the afternoon before finals, not during prelims. Any athletes found violating this policy, removing or trying to share their band will be escorted from the facility.

Spectator Gallery Seating
The spectator bleacher (gallery) seating area above the pool deck will close 15 minutes following the conclusion of Saturday’s preliminary session.  The area will re-open 30 minutes before finals warm-ups begin.  NO personal items can remain and team areas can not be saved. Once re-opened seating is first come first serve.

Personal Chairs
Athletes and spectator personal chairs are not permitted on the pool deck, on the balcony/walkways, or in the lobby.

Any school photographer or news media that wish to be on deck taking pictures or receiving meet info/results must register with Montgomery County Recreation ahead of time and then they will need to check in at the meet PRIOR to stepping on deck. Only one person per school is allowed on deck at any time.

To register:

  • Email name of the photographer/school no later than the entry deadline.
  • Check in at the front desk of GISC to receive deck pass and guidelines.
  • Anyone who is on deck and not registered will be removed from the pool deck immediately.

Team Areas

  • Team areas are first come first serve.
  • Teams may sit in areas around the competition pool, behind the warm-up/cool down pool and around the leisure pool as there is some built in bleacher seating.
  • Areas off limits to team areas: under the diving platforms, in front of the hospitality room (coaches only) and in the hallways.
  • Please do not block any doors.
  • For Friday night and Saturday prelims the last 2 upper bleachers (closest to scoreboard) at the turn end of the pool are for teams.  The first 2 bleachers will be for spectators.
  • For Saturday finals all team areas MUST be on the pool deck.  The upper bleachers at the turn end of the pool will be for all spectators.

Team Banners
Team banners may be hung from spectator bleacher seating area starting Wednesday.  Please hang your banners on the lowest rung and do not block the facility Speedo banner. Do not block the glass with your team banner.  Remember to take your banner with you at the end of the meet.

Programs will be on sale at the facility front desk Saturday morning.

Team trophies are awarded for the top three cumulative scores for both boys and girls teams. Individuals and Relays placing in the top 3 in Finals will receive awards. An individual athlete will be chosen to receive the “Outstanding Performance Award” in memory of Frank Martin, the Metro Meet founder.

Results will be posted frequently during the meet. Final results with lead-off splits and DQs will be posted on the PVS website by Sunday afternoon, February 12.

Food will be available for sale at the concession stand.

Meet T-Shirts
A limited number of souvenir t-shirts will be on sale at a nominal cost to all contestsant on a first come, first served basis.

Below is the meet lineup. All entries are final with the exception of relays. Remember, if you are in the 500 or 400 free relay, you must come to prelims on Friday night.
